Press Release
Civil Liberties slams so called act of compensation by government of A.P. to Muslim youth
Need of Justice to Muslim youth not just Compensation
Compensation is nothing but a joke and slap on Muslim community of Hyderabad
Civil Liberties Monitoring Committee in its press statement strongly condemned the government’s act of giving a meager amount on the name of compensation and rehabilitation to the Muslim youth who were illegally detained, tortured and arrested in the name of investigation of Makkah Masjid bomb blast and implicated them in false cases. Civil Liberties believe that this is not compensation because it is not up to the standard of equity and justice. Due to which Civil Liberties rejects this act of government. Instead of instating confidence among the Muslim youth, it has deeply hurt their confidence. This committee states that as the terrorists hurt the sentiments of Muslims by attacking Makkah Masjid, likewise today the A.P. government has insulted the Muslim community in the same way by giving a meager amount to them. In fact, the government has slapped the self respect and Conscience of Muslim community, which is unforgettable. The sad part is that the Muslim ruling class has taken part in this act by being in forefront and insulted the community. By looking at this flop show; one can understand the degrading conditions of Hyderabadi Muslims socially and politically. Infact, this is a sign of dead Consciences where there is no difference between charity and compensation.
Compensation should be based on justice whereas charity is benevolence. Civil liberties want to make it clear that Muslim youth are oppressed and helpless. They do not have much awareness on the recent happenings. Actually it is the responsibility of the Muslim leadership in pressurizing the government to provide the compensation with complete human dignity and justice. However, unconscious and unfair Muslim political leadership has erased the consciences and self respect of Muslim community.
It is a matter of deep concern that the Muslim politicians of Hyderabad have come down to cheap politics for personal benefits and are playing with the sentiments and lives of the Muslims of Hyderabad. Providing meager amount is not the solution, the important thing is providing justice to the victims of police torture. The tainted police officers involved in the torture should be punished under the rule of international law i.e. crime against humanity and the compensation should be awarded to the victims from the salaries of those police officers but not from the public wealth. Because, Government money is in fact public wealth. Cases should be booked against the guilty police officers because they are the ones who mislead the investigation by targeting the innocent Muslim youth.
Civil liberties Monitoring Committee directly appeals the people and oppressed Muslim youth to become conscious and be strong; Demand the government not just compensation but justice. Here we would like to remind the Muslim youth, about the incident of Malegoan, where the victims of bomb blast had rejected the compensation that had come to them in the form of cheques from Sonia Gandhi. They had thrown them back on her face and questioned her as to how much ‘compensation’ she took after her husband was killed? Therefore, Muslim youth should keep in their minds that they are Muslims and self respect is their main character. Considering this character, they should refuse the compensation given by the government. Civil Liberties Monitoring Committee on this occasion promises that as we had initiated and raised our voice against the atrocities and struggled for justice, this struggle will be continued till the achievement of justice.

| Women are supposed to be very calm generally: but women feel just as men feel...they suffer from too rigid a restraint, too absolute a stagnation, precisely as men would suffer...It is thoughtless to condemn them, or laugh at them, if they seek to do more or learn more than custom has pronounced necessary for their sex.
